Yesterday, I sat down to write this post… and it just wasn’t coming together.
It didn’t feel right. Like I was trying to force words that weren’t the ones the Lord wanted me to say.
So, I walked away.
This morning, I prayed for guidance… and I was led to Exodus 4:10–12:
“But Moses pleaded with the Lord, ‘O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.’
Then the Lord asked Moses, ‘Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord?
Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.’”
It stopped me in my tracks.
Moses didn’t feel equipped. He didn’t feel eloquent. He didn’t feel ready.
And yet… God still called him.
What struck me most was this:
I don’t have to be eloquent—just obedient.
God doesn’t ask us to have all the right words ahead of time.
He asks us to trust Him enough to take the next step.
Maybe you’re facing a conversation, a decision, or a situation right now where you’re wondering,
“What do I say?” or “What do I do?”
The truth is—He may not give you the answer ahead of time.
But if you are seeking Him… if you are walking with Him…
He will meet you in that moment.
He will give you the words.
He will guide your steps.
Right when you need it.
So today, instead of striving for perfection…
choose trust.
Because God is faithful, He will equip you for exactly what He’s asking you to do.
